MALATE, MANILA — Maharlika Club Vice President for Membership Amir Acosta CC CL has completed all the requirements to attain his Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) norm, September 19, at Missionway Manpower Building.
The Meeting was lead by Bruno Tangangco CC, a guest Toastmaster of the Evening from Landbank Toastmasters Club. Bruno Tangangco CC taught everyone techniques on how to remember details and maximize memorization skills. The visualization technique had the Maharlikans visualize a castle, a lake and a mountain, but later filled those images with more and more details. Despite the additions of more and more details, the technique proved to be effective as nobody forgot all the details throughout the meeting!
When the Educational Session began, Bruno Tangangco CC replaced the Word of the Night with a challenge to use an onomatopeia instead. Afterwards, Nicole Uy CC CL lead the Table Topics session featuring a choice of quote or prompt.
Two speakers delivered their Prepared Speeches. The first speaker was Johnlloyd Nagera TM, who delivered his third Basic Speech Project. He spoke about the importance of reaching out to school campuses in order to guide the next generation. The second speaker was Emma Lining TM, who delivered her sixth Basic Speech Project. She spoke about her humorous predicament with a fire alarm. After the prepared speakers. Amir Acosta CC CL gave a presentation from the Successful Club Series on “Finding new members for your club”.
The Evaluation Session began with the General Evaluator Ed Fabonan DTM testing everybody’s memory with a short trick problem. Jesse James Llamado CC CL evaluated the Basic Speech project of Johnlloyd Nagera TM. Nicole Uy CC CL evaluated the Basic Speech Project of Emma Lining TM.
The Maharlikans enjoyed their first meeting in a new venue. They also cheered as Amir Acosta CC CL completed all his Leadership requirements when he gave his presentation from the Successful Club Series, earning him his Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) norm. And as the meeting ended, the Maharlikans could still remember all the details added to the castle, the lake and the mountain.
